AHAs and BHAs
Note: Do not pair it with Vitamin C or Retinol/Retinoid in the same routine. It will mess up your skin.
I wouldn’t use AHA or BHA every night, 2 -3 times per week should be good.
Paula’s Choice Liquid Exfoliant
I don’t use face scrubs anymore on my skin. I prefer using chemical exfoliants because I learned that if your scrubs are too harsh, it can actually make your blackheads worse.

This product wiped out my blackheads in a little over a month. No wonder why it consistently ranks so high.
It takes about 4 – 6 weeks to really notice a large difference. I also noticed the texture of my skin was smoother.
It’s one of my favorite skincare products and must-haves for acne-prone skin and blackheads.
I also noticed it helped to reduce my fine lines on my forehead that I started developing in my mid-20s.

This Salicylic Acid Cleanser is good if you want to simplify your skincare routine and are on a budget. It will cleanse your face and help reduce your blackheads at the same time.
Through researching, I learned that less is more when it comes to skincare products. If you are trying not to irritate your skin, then having products that can do multiple things is a good option.
You can pair this with a hydrating moisturizer afterwards.
Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial AHA + BHA Mask
The T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial AHA + BHA Mask has a blend of AHAs and a BHA which includes glycolic, lactic, citric, tartaric, and salicylic acids.
It focuses on dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles, and pores.
AHA 30% + BHA 2% Exfoliating Peeling Solution
The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Exfoliating Peeling Solution is a powerful chemical exfoliant that includes the best of both worlds, AHAs and BHA.
It has many of the same ingredients as Drunk Elephant’s AHA + BHA Mask, but much more affordable.
This solution exfoliates and unclogs your pores. It can be pretty strong, so make sure you wear sunscreen after it. It’s recommended to not use no more than 2 times per week.
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid
The Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution is a holy grail for many. It’s good for rough skin and hyperpigmentation.
A lot of people use this on different areas of their body also. It can be good for evening skin tone.
Many also use it to lighten their armpits, use as deodorant, get rid of dandruff on their scalp, and brighten their elbows and knees.
Niacinamide
Glow Recipe Niacinamide Serum
I love the Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops by Glow Recipe! Niacinamide helps with reducing the appearance of your pores.
I like to use it after the Paula’s Choice liquid exfoliant to hydrate my skin and give it a dewy glow. This is one of the products I use to try to achieve glass skin.
If you have sensitive skin, I wouldn’t use this product because of the strong scent.
innisfree Dewy Glow Moisturizer with Cherry Blossom & Niacinamide
The Dewy Glow Moisturizer is also another product to achieve glass skin and has niacinamide which is good for pores.
If you have blackheads, it’s super important to keep your skin hydrated or your skin will produce more blackheads.
Make sure you use the right type of moisturizer for your skin type.
Clay Mask
Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask
If you have blackheads, you need to deep cleanse your pores. Use a clay mask a couple of times per week like the Innisfree Pore Clearing Clay Mask.
This mask is great for those who have oily or combination skin because it will regulate sebum production. It also gently exfoliates, making the skin smoother and gets rid of dead skin cells.

This Duo Dual Action Acne Treatment targets acne, blackheads, and large pores. It includes benzoyl peroxide and niacinamide.
If you’re looking for a skincare product that is lightweight and not greasy, then this would be good as it is absorbed quickly.
It’s also great for those with sensitive skin and all skin types.
Retinol and Retinoids
These products are good for multiple skin concerns like slowing the aging of skin, reducing fine lines, etc.
If you choose these products, start with a low percentage before working your way up to test if your skin can handle it first.
It’s super important to wear sunscreen when you go out after using these products because your skin will be more sensitive. If you don’t, it defeats the purpose of using them.
Differin Gel
If you want to start getting into retinoids, this is a good one. The Different Gel was pretty gentle when I used it.
This was the first over-the-counter retinoid that was approved by the FDA. Though for some, it might cause some initial redness, peeling, or dryness at first if your skin is newer to retinoids.
Paula’s Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment
This fragrance-free Paula’s Choice Retinol Treatment firm skin, addresses wrinkles, and minimizes large pores.
It’s best for dry, combination and normal skin. It includes peptides and Vitamin C.
